It Southern Comfort that's pure and hearty all the way to the core, and it's all found at the new Fred's Market Restaurant in Riverview, Florida. Established in 1998. In 1954 Elton and Evelyn Johnson establish a tradition of family dining & southern hospitality in Plant City, Florida. Pumping gas and stacking sandwiches led to the first Johnson's Restaurant. Over the next few decades multiple Johnson run restaurants popped up in the area. In 1998 Fred and Tammy Johnson carry forward the Southern Hospitality opening the first Fred's Market on site at the State Farmer's Market. Resulting in fresh produce at their fingertips. In 2003 Grandpa's BBQ recipes were revived three generations later by grandson Owen who perfected the rubs & served up authentic sauces at the Original Plant City Johnson BBQ. Over the next few years Tammy & Fred opened up Fred's restaurants in Lakeland, Bartow, and Winter Haven. In 2012 Fred's Market Restaurant was established, fostering Fred's well-known Farm-to-Plate freshness in Riverview, Florida.
