Embodied Altars: All Levels Dance Class

Step into your Altar with movement mediation, reflection, and a discovery of your own connection to ancestry and land. EMBODIED ALTARS is an all-levels dance class hosted by Daybreak Star Radio. It is designed by Indigenous Chicana artist and El Sueño director, Alicia Mullikin. Dancers will utilize Indigenous principles within movement, meditation, and song as a way to practice gratitude, honor the land, and recognize their ancestors. The class is for those who are interested in reflection, intention setting, and a discovery of their own stories. No dance experience necessary. Class Time: Mondays, 6:30-8PM Venue: Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center 5011 Bernie Whitebear Way, Seattle, WA 98199 Sliding Scale: $5-$20 per class This venue is ADA accessible w/ ADA bathrooms and a wheelchair lift to the second floor. Class will be held in the ballroom space, this area has 5 ADA parking spaces. There are an additional 25 parking spots in our lot, there is ample parking space along the road leading up to Daybreak star as well as the Discovery Park North Parking lot. What to bring: water, comfortable clothes to dance in, journal, your personal identity, a desire to explore new pathways and an open mind/heart.
