SufiCorner Poetry Circle

About

Join us for a reflective evening of discussion and recitation of Sufi poetry, starting on October 15th with Attar's Conference of the Birds! We gather every Thursday in the cozy upstairs of Qahwah House in Morningside Heights to read and discuss Sufi poetry. We aim to facilitate an intimate discussion of the imagery, motifs, themes, and philosophies behind a selection of poems. Our aim is to foster an inclusive space for all, whether you are a poet yourself or simply a lover of beauty. We will be engaging with the works of numerous masters of Sufi poetry, including Rumi, Hafez, Rabia, and Ibn 'Arabi; however, we will begin by readingConference of the Birdsby Farid al-Din Attar. Our poetry circle meets at 7:30 pm after our book club (beginning at 6:00 pm).
