Shahin Shahbazi, Tar & Oud: Shahin Shahbazi is a composer, scholar, and tar/setar/oud player based in Northern California. He began his musical journey at age ten, starting with the tombak and later focusing on tar and setar with encouragement from his mother. He studied Persian classical music under renowned masters like Mohammad Reza Lotfi, Dariush Talaei, and Hossein Alizadeh, and also received training in composition and orchestration from Manuchehr Sahbai. Shahin has released 14 albums and collaborated on over 30, performing in Iran, the U.S., Germany, Austria, Turkey, India, and Uzbekistan. He has received several awards, including "Best Young Soloist" in Tehran (2000) and "Best Music Album" for Aberoye Ab (2013).
